Emphasis and Success

Coaching emphasis would be individual development and decision-making. These two components are fundamental to developing team play.

The first component, individual development, begins with teaching the player proper technique, but more importantly creating and sustaining a player’s desire to strive to their potential.  Desire is attained by creating a fun and positive learning environment.  If the player’s desire grows, he/she will challenge and improve themselves beyond the practices.

The second component, decision-making, starts with establishing guidelines and principles of the game.  Once they are defined and practiced, decision-making is made with consistency and speed.

Success is the improvement from the beginning to the end of the season in each player.  Success is a player’s growth in his/her desire to play and share the game.
