C. Every athlete is expected to respect the officials.

D. Every athlete is expected to exhibit a sportsmanlike attitude at all times toward other players/opposing teams and teammates.

E. Every athlete is expected to play as part of a team and not for themselves.

F. Every athlete is expected to understand that they have joined the team to LEARN skills and concepts of that particular sport; they have not joined to have equal playing time.

G. Every athlete is expected to be respectful of facilities, equipment, and uniform care.

H. Every athlete is to be present and on time for all practices and games unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time and communicated with the coaches.

I. Any permanent removal of a player from the game by an official due to attitude or language will result in a one-game suspension. The athletic director and administration may review and make final decisions regarding game suspensions.

PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

A. Parents must demonstrate respect toward all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at all times. Verbal or physical aggression, threats, or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.

B. Parents are encouraged to cheer positively and support their athlete’s development. Coaching from the sidelines, arguing with referees, or engaging in negative commentary during games is prohibited.

C. All concerns or issues must be addressed respectfully and through proper channels. A 24-hour waiting period is required before approaching a coach, and concerns should not be discussed via text or email.

D. West Coast Impact Athletics (WCI) is a “no-strife zone.” Conflicts must be resolved biblically and directly, as outlined in Matthew 18:15. Gossip, divisive behavior, or perpetuating discord among players, parents, or coaches is cause for disciplinary action.

E. Any parent whose behavior disrupts a game, endangers participants, or violates this Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include:

  1. A formal warning and required meeting with WCI leadership (first offense).
  2. Suspension from attending games and practices for a minimum of two games (second offense).
  3. Immediate suspension for a minimum of four games if the behavior includes threats, physical aggression, or repeated violations. Severe misconduct may result in permanent removal from WCI, including the athlete’s dismissal from the team. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

F. WCI reserves the right to align with disciplinary actions imposed by partner organizations. However, additional measures may be implemented if necessary to maintain WCI’s standards of conduct.

G. All parents are required to read and sign the Parent Code of Conduct before their child participates in any WCI activity, acknowledging they understand and agree to these policies.
