Eligibility & FAQ
Who can play, how registration works, and the questions we hear most.
Who can play
Athletes ages 7 to 18 are eligible. High school participants cannot reach 19 years of age on or before August 1 of their playing season.
Because West Coast Impact is explicitly Christian, families review and accept our Statement of Faith as part of joining. Accepting it isn’t a personal profession of faith — it means you understand these are the beliefs WCI operates by, and your family agrees to respect them and take part in team life (Bible study and prayer included).
Homeschool eligibility
- A parent or guardian provides the primary instruction.
- The student doesn't depend solely on external providers for a diploma (dual-enrollment college courses are permitted).
- A parent or guardian handles the academic record — filing through a charter or a PSP (private school satellite program) is fine, as long as the parent does the teaching.
- Students in virtual, online, or institutional programs where the INSTITUTION provides the instruction are not eligible.
- Documentation may be requested to verify homeschool status.

Are background checks required for coaches?+
Yes. All volunteers and coaches must pass a background check to ensure the safety of our players.

Safety is our top priority. We follow strict protocols for concussion management and hydration.
Are refunds available if my child can't participate?+
Refunds are available if you purchase insurance, minus a small administrative fee. After that, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
How are teams assigned?+
Teams are formed by skill first, then age, then location where applicable. We aim to balance teams for fair competition.
